Key West Police Chief Donie Lee and City Manager Jim Scholl today met with engineers from FDOT to discuss ongoing concerns regarding the pedestrian crosswalks on North Roosevelt Blvd.

Since their installation, there has been a lot of community concern that the current configurations are dangerous.

After four hours of discussion and visiting each of the crosswalks, the FDOT officials agreed to consider whether all of them are warranted. In addition, they will consider the installation of pedestrian activated control devices that will improve safety.
