Womankind Names New Executive Director

Kim Romano, outgoing executive director of Womankind, and Cali Roberts, who will take her place on May 1st. Roberts is currently the assistant director of the medical center.

Womankind’s board of directors has promoted Carolyn “Cali” Roberts to the executive director position effective May 1st.  Cali has served as the medical center’s assistant director for nine years. Board president Colleen Quirk stated:

“Cali is brilliant and has worked hard for Womankind for many years, taking care of everything from fundraisers to IT issues to billing. She knows everything there is to know about our agency.  The board feels very fortunate she has accepted the position.  Our agency will be in great hands.”

Current executive director Kim Romano, who joined Womankind in 2010, has been on sabbatical since November. Quirk said:  “Kim joined us with the energy of two people and quickly found us a new space to rent, successfully lobbied to ensure sex education could be offered in the school system, opened patient care to include men, hired our first board-certified gynecologist, and marketed the center in her own fun and edgy way.  One thing I learned quickly about Kim was that if she put her mind to something it got done.  We will miss Kim dearly and wish her the best in her next chapter.”

Romano was recently accepted to the Sedona Summer Colony Program in Arizona.
