The Lower Keys Guides Association 5th Annual Sugarloaf Showdown

Inviting all Anglers to the Sugarloaf Showdown! A weekend dedicated to showing your friends you are a better fisherman than they are, for the benefit of charity. Join us while we have fun, catch and release fish, and help our community this November 1-3, 2018.

The Lower Keys Guides Association’s Sugarloaf Showdown is a catch and release inshore fishing tournament focusing on bonefish, permit and barracuda.

Registration and check-in for the Showdown will be at 4 p.m. on Thursday at My New Joint above the Square Grouper Bar and Grill, 22658 Overseas Highway on Cudjoe Key. An opening dinner, silent auction and mandatory rules meeting for all participants will follow.

The Sugarloaf Showdown Benefit: There will be a silent auction, during the awards banquet at Sugarloaf Lodge Tiki Bar patio on Saturday at 6pm. Available for bidding will be high quality fishing gear and accessories donated by supporters. Proceeds from the silent auction benefit the Guides Trust Foundation, which provides emergency funds for fishing guides in the Florida Keys who have been injured or are recovering from illness.

The tournament is open to all anglers and guides. The fee is $250 per 2-person team. This team event is limited to three per boat, with two fishing and the third strictly as a guide.

The rules can be found online at http://sugarloafshowdown.com/rules/. Remember, no chumming and all entries must be photographed before release.
