PEACE BEGINS WITH ME—Key West Montessori Charter School students (left to right) Allison Smith, Caber Bausmith, Kavan Heckler, Emma Norman, Ella Castro, and Kaia Bell, and guide Rachel Martinez celebrate International Peace Day at Bayview Park in Key West last Wednesday, September 21. The public charter K-8 school joined the neighboring Montessori Children’s School in the morning’s peace march and park gathering to honor the principles of humanitarianism, community, and peace— core components of the Montessori education.

The Key West Montessori Charter School is a free, lottery-based public school that is open to all children and strives to reflect the diversity of our community while guiding students in the development of curiosity, self-motivation and respect. For more information or to schedule a time to observe the Montessori model at work in the classrooms, contact Principal Lynn Barras at 305. 293.1400 x 53418 or visit keywestmontessori.com.
