ORLANDO – Monroe County Administrator Roman Gastesi was selected President Elect of the Florida Association of County Managers on Thursday at the Florida Association of County’s Annual Conference & Education Exhibition in Orlando.

“It’s an honor to be selected by my peers throughout the state to serve,” Gastesi said. “This will help Monroe County stay relevant statewide. It also will help us learn about all the great things other counties are doing and how we can adopt them to better the lives of our residents.”

The Florida Association of County Managers provides a forum for county managers to develop professional relationships, discuss current and future issues affecting counties, and provide mentoring opportunities, education, advice and advocacy on statewide issues.

Broward County Administrator Bertha Henry was elected President, replacing outgoing President Vincent Long, the Administrator of Leon County. Hendry County Administrator Charles Chapman was elected Secretary and Taylor County Administrator Dustin Hinkel was elected Treasurer.
