MONROE COUNTY FIRE RESCUE AND NAVAL AIR STATION KEY WEST TRAIN TOGETHER ON ROCKLAND KEY

ROCKLAND KEY, FL – Alex’s Auto Wrecking and Parts junkyard on Rockland Key was the perfect place for firefighters from Monroe County Fire Rescue and Naval Air Station Key West to get in some extrication training this week.

Alex’s donated three cars for the firefighters to use for this life-saving training.

Lt. Steve McAnally organized and led the training. Monroe County Fire Rescue Battalion Chief Cab Bentley, Capt. Ryan Johnson and firefighters from Big Coppitt, Stock Island and Key West International Airport stations all participated.

National Air Station Key West Assistant Chief Robert Johnson and four firefighters from the air station also took part in the training.

It was a great opportunity for the two agencies to become familiar with each other’s equipment and techniques.
