Fair Insurance Rates in Monroe (FIRM), with the support of Monroe County, is hosting a series of free forums October 13-15 called “Navigating Post-Irma Insurance Claims.” Representatives from FIRM, the Florida Department of Financial Services Division of Consumer Services, FEMA, Citizens Property Insurance Corp., and the Monroe County Bar Association will be on hand to explain processes and policyholder rights and responsibilities and to answer questions from the audience. Representatives from the offices of Congressman Carlos Curbelo, Senator Anitere Flores, and Representative Holly Raschein will also be present at various locations. The schedule for the forums is as follows:

KEY WEST, Friday, 10/13, 4:30 pm-7:30pm, Harvey Government Center, BOCC Chambers, 1200 Truman Ave.
LOWER KEYS, Saturday, 10/14, 10:00 am-1:00 pm, Sugarloaf Fire Station, 2nd floor, 17175 Overseas Hwy.
MARATHON, Saturday, 10/14, 3:00 pm-6:00 pm, Marathon Government Center, BOCC Chambers, 2798 Overseas Hwy.
ISLAMORADA, Sunday, 10/15, 10:00 am-1:00 pm, Whale Harbor Restaurant and Marina, Oasis Ballroom, 83413 Overseas Hwy.
KEY LARGO, Sunday, 10/15, 3:00 pm-6:00 pm, Murray Nelson Government Center Auditorium, 102050 Overseas Hwy.

October 16-18 the Florida Department of Financial Services Division of Consumer Services will be providing one-on-oneinsurance assistance at four Capital Bank locations:

Key West, 330 Whitehead St., 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Big Pine Key, 30480 Overseas Hwy., 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Marathon, 2348 Overseas Hwy., 9:00 am-4:00 pm
Islamorada, 80900 Overseas Hwy., 9:00 am-4:00 pm

Through advocacy and community outreach, FIRM contributes to housing affordability and helps residents remain and prosper in our community.
