A large number of Navy personnel turned out to help the Sheriff’s Office with the Adopt a Highway cleanup on Cudjoe Key this week. Thanks to Deputy Austin Hopp and his wife Melissa – she is in the Navy and helped to encourage the involvement. About 600 pounds of trash were collected during the effort between mile marker’s 20 and 22. The cleanup was coordinated by Sgt. Linda Mixon and her squad.
