Southern Airways Express, the nation’s third-largest commuter carrier, will operate daily service between West Palm Beach and Key West, with twice daily service on weekends.
Southern Airways will begin service on November 8 (Silver Airways is discontinuing the route on November 5). One-way tickets between Key West and West Palm Beach will start at $139.

To coincide with the Key West route, the airline is beginning a thrice-daily route between West Palm Beach and Tampa in November. It also intends to expand into the Middle Keys in late 2019, but details of the upcoming route have not yet been released.
“We’ve been looking at expansion in Florida for several years and have always believed that Palm Beach and Key West are two of the most under-served airports in the state. To link these airports and to provide a Palm Beach-Tampa shuttle is a win for all the cities, for the traveling public, and for this airline,” said Stan Little, chairman and CEO of Southern.
Southern’s service in Florida will be operated “non-sterile,” meaning flights will arrive and depart from private terminals instead of from the main departures terminal. For local flyers, this means no TSA screening hassles and free parking. Southern will be using the Atlantic Aviation terminal at Palm Beach.
Each passenger is allowed one personal item such as a small backpack, purse, or briefcase weighing less than 15 pounds at no charge, as well as one checked bag or “carry-on checked plane side,” up to 50 pounds.
Tickets for all new routes are currently on-sale at www.iFlySouthern.com and at all major online travel sites, such as Expedia, Priceline and Kayak or call 1-800-429-0485.
