The cutter “Charles Sexton”, a 154-foot fast response cutter home-ported in Key West, Florida, was one of three Coast Guard vessels involved in seizing approximately 3,516 pounds of cocaine and 50 pounds of marijuana worth an estimated wholesale value of over 47 million dollars.
The crew of the Coast Guard Cutter Bernard C. Webber (WPC-1101) offloaded the seized drugs on Tuesday [October 16, 2018] at Coast Guard Base Miami Beach.
The drugs were seized between late September and early October during the interdictions of three suspected smuggling vessels off the coasts of the Dominican Republic, Haiti and Aruba by three Coast Guard Cutters: Donald Horsley (WPC-1117), Vigilant (WMEC-617) and Charles Sexton (WPC-1108).
The Key West cutter, “Charles Sexton”, was responsible for the October 10th, seizure of an estimated 2700 pounds of cocaine.
