Nepal relief donation

Key West Sunrise Rotary earmarked a $10,000 donation to Rotary International to support recovery efforts in Nepal. Rotary District 6990 Assistant Governor Jim Smith accepted the club’s donation from President Ron Demes.

Rotary International, through its partner Shelterbox, is delivering emergency shelter and other lifesaving equipment to the earthquake-ravaged country, and is mobilizing expertise to support intermediate and long-term recovery and rebuilding. There are 84 Rotary clubs in Nepal with a total membership of nearly 2,800.

The Key West Sunrise Rotary Club in the Conch Republic, established in 1988, supports charities and provides college scholarships through fundraising events including Brewfest, Poker Run and a golf tournament.
