Three Receive Chief’s Commendation

During an awards ceremony at the Grand Key Resort on Tuesday, Key West Police Chief Donie Lee commended three officers whose patience and professionalism may have averted a violent situation.
On January 31st Officers Katie Hansell, Julio Gomez and Michael Malgrat were called to assist twice at DePoo Hospital. Hospital staff was struggling with a patient who was refusing medications, and the situation looked like the patient might act out violently.
