The Love Lane Gang – They’re Just Plain Fun!
The Love Lane Gang is a homegrown band that charms and thrills both locals and visitors with their rollicking raucous ruckus. They have revamped their lineup and material, resulting in a sound that is stronger than ever. The addition of Lance Taylor on guitar and vocals marks a step up in both departments, and his smartly written songs add more depth to the already wide-ranging repertoire. The highly esteemed Leah Orlikowski adds her strong vocals and stage presence to the act. Gary Mackey has joined the band, bringing his extraordinary talents on the fiddle. Fiddler Guy Tittes has switched to cello, and when co-founder and bassist Stephen LaPierre brings out his bow, the string section produces a sound that is strong, unique, and evocative – unlike anything else being played in the Keys. Rob Cook provides imaginative percussion to complement his solid drumming, and co-founder and mandolinist Steve Gibson fills in the high end imaginatively. The band’s use of the audio spectrum makes for rewarding listening, and the grooves they produce make for easy dancing. It’s impossible to keep from smiling amidst the mirthful musical mayhem.
But you needn’t pay too much mind to all that serious musical analysis – they’re just plain fun!
