Social Services Accepting Applications for Weatherization Assistance Program
The Monroe County Social Services’ Weatherization Assistance Program is now accepting applications from qualified, low income households to receive free weatherization services to make their homes more energy efficient and reduce energy cost.
Homeowners and renters of single family homes may receive home energy upgrades, which include: new energy efficient appliances, and repair or replacement of windows, doors, low flow water fixtures and ceiling insulation.
Participation in the program is based on income eligibility with priority given to the elderly and disabled. You can apply by calling 305-292-4405 or visiting your local Monroe County Social Services Office:
Key West: Historic Gato Building, 1100 Simonton St.;
Marathon: 490 63rd St., Ocean;
Islamorada: Plantation Key Government Center, 88770 Overseas Highway.
