She told Deputy Ignacio Molina she left the motor running and the air conditioning on. She said she didn’t want to wake the child, who was sleeping in a car seat. She said she was not concerned about leaving the child alone because “This is Key Largo. Nothing happens in Key Largo”.

Teen charged with contributing to delinquency of a minor
An 18 year old from Key Largo was arrested early Monday for contributing to the delinquency of a 16 year old girl.
Deputy Christopher Kilmurray was checking the area around Tavernier Towne Center at 1 a.m. when he saw a black Ford truck with the engine running in the parking lot. In the truck was a male driver identified as Ryan Spillman. A 16 year old female was in the passenger seat.
As the deputy approached the truck, he could smell the odor of marijuana coming from inside. Spillman told the deputy he and the girl were “hanging out and talking”.
Deputy Ignacio Molina arrived to assist. The deputies asked Spillman where the marijuana was; he told them it was in the center console. He also admitted to having a smoking device for the marijuana in the vehicle. A search turned up 15 grams of marijuana, two bongs, a grinder and other drug paraphernalia. Spillman was also in possession of an altered driver’s license which indicated his age was 21.
The girl’s mother was called to pick her up. Spillman was arrested. He was charged with possessing a fake driver’s license, contributing to the delinquency of a minor, possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into jail.
