Event for Breast Cancer Awareness and Zonta Key West Membership Drive

On Thursday, January 5th, the Zonta Club of Key West will hold its third annual Pier House Goes PINK! party to benefit the ABC (Awareness Breast Cancer) Walk/Run Fund. The rescheduled event which was postponed in October when tropical storm conditions prevented the party, will be held from 4:30 to 7:00pm at the Pier House Resort and Spa, One Duval Street, Key West. The ABC Walk/Run Fund provides free mammograms and other diagnostic screenings for uninsured and underinsured women in the Lower Keys.

Zonta Key West is also seeking new members so this is an excellent opportunity for women in the community to meet Zontians and hear about their mission and local community service projects.

Pier House Goes Pink! will feature complimentary hors d’oeuvres, a cash bar with happy hour prices on select drinks, a silent auction with donations from many local businesses and a drawing for a beautiful, handmade quilt by local resident and breast cancer survivor Grace Spencer. If you are unable to attend the event, please contact Cyndi Chatman for quilt drawing tickets at 770-789-0462 or by emailing

During the event, the Club will also be collecting new or very gently used bras to donate to This organization provides the bras to women who have been saved from human trafficking in Mozambique, Uganda and El Salvador allowing them to entrepreneurially start a business.

Come join in the fun while helping raise money for mammograms for local women, advancing breast cancer awareness and learning about local Zonta initiatives!
