Removing Derelict Vessels
Marine Deputy James Hager has been spending much of his time cleaning up the waters of the Lower Keys, marking derelict vessels for removal and cleaning up sunken dinghies and other debris in the water. Here he is tagging a sunken houseboat offshore of Shark Key this past week. Deputy Hager located the owner and issued him a notice to appear in court. Due to Deputy Hager’s diligent efforts, the owner is now removing the vessel at no expense to taxpayers. Deputy Hager has taken these same actions at least eight times in the past few months and will continue to work to remove these dangers to the environment and to navigation.
Is that the one that went down during Wilma?
