Thanks to a grant from OIRF, the historic Botanical Garden on Stock Island will be getting a new entry gate installed. The Garden first opened its gates in 1936 as part of the Federal Economic Recovery Act project to lift Key West out of bankruptcy through tourism. OIRF raises funds for protecting the Oldest House and other historic sites in Key West by holding four tours of private homes each winter season. The House Tours were first held in 1960.
