Monroe County’s New Public Works Building in Upper Keys Now Open to Public
Monroe County’s new Upper Keys Public Works building that houses Facilities Maintenance and Roads & Bridges is now open to the public.
The building is located at 300 Magnolia St., Key Largo, FL 33037. The hours are 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The new fax number for the Public Works building is 305 451-1746.
Facilities Maintenance is the department where you can book facilities, parks or beaches for events; notify staff about problems at any County facilities, beaches or parks; or file a complaint about them. This can be done in person, by phone (305-852-7161) or emailing [email protected] or [email protected].
Roads & Bridges is the department where you or a contractor can apply for permits to put pavers on the County right away; apply for permits to do work on a County road or right of way; notify staff about problems regarding County roads and bridges, including potholes, overgrown vegetation and flooding; or to file a complaint. This can be done in person, by phone (305-852-7161); or by emailing [email protected] or [email protected].
Upper Keys Public Works covers from the Miami-Dade county line to the Village of Islamorada, as well as Duck Key and Conch Key.
The $1.3 million, 3,500-square-foot building is the first part of preparing the aging and antiquated Plantation Key Government Center for the new County Courthouse and County Detention Center.
The old Upper Keys Public Works building at 88770 Overseas Highway still houses Monroe County Social Services in Suite 1. Social Services will remain at this site until further notice.
