Major Appointed to National Accreditation Commission
Major Tim Age, Commander of the Sheriff’s Bureau of Corrections, has been appointed to sit on the American Correctional Association’s Commission on Accreditation for Corrections. He will serve a four year term on the commission, from 2017 until 2021.
The Sheriff’s Office achieved prestigious ACA national accreditation status in 2014. The agency currently holds five professional accreditations in law enforcement, corrections and for corrections health care.
“We are extremely proud of our agency for these accreditation accomplishments,” said Sheriff Rick Ramsay. “Achieving and then maintaining professional accreditation can be a grueling and exacting process, but it is crucial in making sure we operate at the highest levels of professionalism.” Sheriff Ramsay is currently on the board of commissioners for the Commission for Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation.
“I am honored to have been chosen to sit on the ACA Commission,” said Major Age. “Ensuring professionalism through accreditation in the field of Corrections has never been more important than it is now. As a member of the commission I will be helping to bring more facilities in the country into compliance with the high standards of ACA. I look forward to the challenge,” he said.
