KWPD Recognizes Dedication and Professionalism

celcerOn his last full day with the Key West Police Department, Chief Donie Lee named Officer Gary Celcer the Officer of the First Half for 2016.

Officer Celcer started with the Key West Police Department in July of 2003. During his 13 years with the Department he has received several commendations, including the Lifesaving Award, as well as praise from the community. He has served as a member of the K9 Unit with the Department’s only bomb sniffing dog. He has served with patrol and as a traffic homicide investigator. Most recently he was a member and the coordinator of the Motorcycle Unit.

Chief Lee commended him on his dedication, professionalism and reliability. He noted that the community will continue to benefit from Officer Celcer’s service as he is returning to the health services field, starting with a stint at the emergency room.

Chief Lee thanked him for his dedication to the community. Officer Wallis accepted the plaque with his son, Derek, Jr.

 

betzKey West Police Bicycle Officer Frank Betz was recognized last week for his 10 years of service to the Department. Chief Donie Lee, during an awards ceremony at the Doubletree Grand Key last week, presented Officer Betz with a plaque, thanking him for his dedication and professionalism.

 

mitchellKey West Police Chief Donie Lee presented Detective Stephen Mitchell with a plaque in recognition for his ten years of service with the Department. During an awards ceremony at the Doubletree Grand Key, Chief Lee thanked Detective Mitchel for his dedication to the community.

 

 

shouldiceKey West Police Marine Officer Michael Shouldice was recognized last week for his 10 years of service to the Department. Chief Donie Lee, during an awards ceremony at the Doubletree Grand Key, presented Officer Shouldice a plaque, thanking him for his dedication and professionalism.

 

michael knowlesPolice Chief Donie Lee, last week presented Doubletree Grand Key General Manager Michael Knowles with a plaque in appreciation for his outstanding support of the Key West Police Department. The awards ceremony was one of several that the Grand Key has hosted.
