Key West Fire Chief David Fraga, Operations Division Chief Michael Davila and EMS Division Chief Edward Perez accepted recognition recently for bringing local ambulance service in-house.

The Broward County Fire Chiefs Association congratulated the Key West Fire Department. Representatives from Key West were attending the four-county meeting held in Broward County which focused on emergency medical services. The Association presented a plaque commemorating this beginning of a new era for the Key West Fire Department.

Since April 1st, the department has provided complete Emergency Medical Services for the city. Of the 88 members of the Key West Fire Department, 83 are EMTs and 22 of those are paramedics.
