It Can Be Easy Going Green!

GardenFest, a fair of nature, arts, crafts, food and entertainment for the whole family, returns to the Key West Tropical Forest and Botanical Garden on Saturday & Sunday, February 11th and 12th, 10am to 4pm. Free admission!

Shop for plants, and artworks amid the cooling greenery lakeside at our arboretum. This is your chance to learn more about native plants from the Garden’s knowledgeable volunteers and acquire some specimens actually propagated on-site, as well as species brought in by other nurseries. Crafts and art feature nature-themes or are made from earth-friendly or recycled materials. Take a break and enjoy refreshments in our Courtyard – turned – “beer garden”! Local songsters like Mary Spear and Gary Hempsey add to the festive ambiance. Yes, there will be food and fun for the little ones, as well; even Kids Corner to keep them occupied. Don’t miss Saturday’s special tour (10am) and speaker (1:30pm) on birds and butterflies. And don’t pass by the information booths – they’ll help you turn a better shade of “green”.

KWTF&BG is located on College Road, Stock Island, near the light just over Cow Key bridge. Go to www.kwbgs.org for details and schedule or call 305-296-1504.
