Coral Shores High School and the School District Remember Mrs. Jackie Moates
TAVERNIER, Fla. – It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Mrs. Jackie “Momma” Moates. Mrs. Moates managed the front office at Coral Shores High School for more than 40 years, changing the lives of generations of students walking the halls of CSHS. She was affectionately known for the tough love she gave to the students, encouraging them every day to be the best version of themselves.
Former Principal of CSHS and School Board Member Ron Martin said she dedicated her life to the students and staff at the school.
Superintendent Mark Porter said her dedication, compassion, and professionalism in the position for the past several decades made her invaluable to the school district. “Mrs. Moates was truly passionate about serving the students and staff as office manager for so many years. She adapted to years of changes in the district and did so with the well-being and success of the students in mind. Mrs. Moates will be greatly missed.”
CSHS Principal Blake Fry said a memorial service for Mrs. Moates is scheduled for Saturday, March 10th at 2 p.m. in the Coral Shores High School gym. Mr. Fry added, in lieu of flowers the family would like donations for a scholarship in her name.
