Key West City Manager Jim Scholl will be the keynote speaker for the April 30 Civics Lesson sponsored by the Lower Keys League of Women Voters and scheduled for 7 p.m. till 8:30 p.m., Thursday, April 30, at One Island Family, 801 Georgia St., Key West. The event is free and open to the public. Scholl, who was the city’s manager from 2007­2012, when he retired, returned to the position in July 2014. Scholl was commander of the NAS Key West from 2003­-2007. The league’s quarterly Civics Lesson encourages understanding of governmental policy through the work of elected and appointed public officials.
