New Fire Truck Arrives
The Key West Fire Department yesterday took delivery on its new Pierce Pumper Truck at the Station #1. The shiny new engine #7 will replace a nine year old engine in front line use, part of the Department’s strategy to keep its lifesaving equipment up to date.
“Our strategic plan ensures that, as older equipment begins to need more costly maintenance, we update our fleet,” said Fire Chief Michael Davila. “This state-of-the-art engine incorporates important firefighter and public safety features.”
The City Commission approved the purchase, which was budgeted this fiscal year, back in October.
