“You don’t need an excuse to be happy” is the motto for The Green Pineapple Wellness Center on 1130 Duval Street’s Be Happy Hour, and Abby Duckwall and Kim Hull live by it. The Center’s mixer for like-minded people will be held the first Wednesday of every month and starts Wednesday, April 5th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and features a complimentary glass of organic champagne, organic wine and beer tastings, food and drink specials, music, special discounts on retail and services, and a place for those who are wellness-oriented to socialize and have some fun.

There’s a new kind of happy hour coming to Key West on the first Wednesday of every month at The Green Pineapple Wellness Center on 1130 Duval Street. “Be Happy Hour”— the Center’s mixer for like-minded people—starts Wednesday, April 5th from 5:00pm to 7:00pm and features a complimentary glass of organic champagne, organic wine and beer tastings, food and drink specials, music, special discounts on retail and services, and a place for those who are wellness-oriented to socialize and have some fun.

“Not everyone feels comfortable in the bar scene,” says The Green Pineapple Wellness Center founder Debbi Lippi. “We’re giving our community another healthier option and venue to meet and connect with new people.”

Lippi established the Center, which hosts a boutique, organic café, life coaching office, the Key West Yoga Sanctuary yoga studio, and the Anahara Spa, to help support the art of living well, inside and out. Together with her staff and the Center’s fellow business owners, she has created opportunities for locals and visitors to nourish their bodies, minds, and souls with the products, services, workshops, and creative events they offer.

“Be Happy Hour” is the newest event offered up. Guests at the April 5th evening can anticipate a free glass of organic champagne, discounts on organic wines, coffees, teas and light edibles, live music from singer/songwriter Eric Levy, and a chance to learn more about the Key West holistic community and the people within it. Guests who purchase something from the café that evening receive a 20% discount on the boutique’s retail products and Anahara Spa services, and a free class pass for Key West Yoga Sanctuary. 10% of the evening’s proceeds will benefit the “Embody Love” Program for teen girls, which offers free workshops to help them change the way they feel, think, and speak to themselves and others about their body image and beauty.

The social gathering will run every first Wednesday of the month throughout the year, offering opportunities for year-round locals to enjoy the space, the perks, and each other.

“We feel like the space itself, our collective mission, and the social aspect of our wellness center will be a draw for like-minded people who will really appreciate this opportunity to mix and mingle,” says Lippi.
