United Way of the Florida Keys Delivers ‘Stuff the Bus’ School Supplies
Early Friday morning, dozens of United Way supporters including staff, board members, and volunteers gathered at the Florida Keys Electric Cooperative warehouse in Marathon to distribute school supplies from their annual “Stuff the Bus” campaign. Items like notebooks, pencils, pens, backpacks, colored pencils, binders, and more were distributed to fifteen Monroe County public and charter schools, providing an abundance of supplies for students most in need as teachers dig in to the new school year.
Through the generosity of Keys residents and Publix supermarkets, supplies filled fifteen pallets in the FKEC warehouse, with totals including over 2000 spiral notebooks, 2500 boxes of pencils, 2000 pens, 40 cases of copier paper, over 4000 packs of writing paper, and much much more.
Due to the overwhelming support of Keys residents, United Way of the Florida Keys was able to deliver more supplies than they ever have before to help ensure every child is equipped with the tools they need to be successful this school year.
