Smuggler’s Cove Resort and Marina in Islamorada Hosts Tibetan Monks of the Drepung Gomang Monastery
The recently renovated Smuggler’s Cove Resort and Marina in Islamorada is proud to host the Tibetan monks of the Drepung Gomang Monastery next Wednesday, Feb. 18, for their finale before departure back to southern India. Celebrations of peace aboard the Island Star, an on-site fishing boat docked at Smuggler’s Cove, will be at sunrise and sunset departing via the hotel’s 80-slip full-service marina. There will also be an opportunity to meet the eight Tibetan monks and purchase dharma supplies at their Tibetan marketplace during the day. Tickets are $40, with proceeds going to fund the monks’ further education at the Drepung Gomang Monastery in India. For the past few weeks, the monks have been on their Sounds of Peace Tour throughout the Florida Keys.
