Rotary Club ‘Smile Makers’ Raising Funds For Key West Kids
The Smile Makers of the Rotary Club of Key West will hold a fundraiser on Friday, January 9th from 6:00 to 8:00pm hosted by Hard Rock Café, 313 Duval Street. All proceeds raised at this event and at the Club’s 12th Annual Golf Tournament on January 18th will benefit the Club’s “Help a Child Smile” Dental Fund. Trolley service will be available from the Key West High School parking lot to the Hard Rock Café the evening of January 9th.
The fun-filled night at Hard Rock will feature a buffet dinner, a cash bar including specialty rum cocktails, celebrity bartenders, 50/50 and prize raffles and a spectacular silent action. The silent auction, with over $9,000 in goods and services, will include a “Hard Rock” Fender acoustic guitar; artwork treasures; restaurant, hotel and fine jeweler gift certificates; jewelry; water sport excursions; gift baskets and much more.
The Help a Child Smile Golf Tournament will be held at the Key West Golf Club on Sunday, January 18th with a shotgun start at 7:30am. A $100 entrance fee includes 2 red tees and 2 mulligans plus lunch at the clubhouse. Hole Sponsorships are also available.
Funds raised during both events will be used to provide dental services to children in less advantaged families in our Community. A goal in 2015 is to begin offering a preventative dental program to children in Key West and Lower Keys elementary schools in addition to the current crisis last-resort dental funding program. Over the past 11 years, the Rotary Club of Key West has raised over $120,000 for this cause and has made a tremendous difference in the lives of our youngest citizens.
