Papio Exhibit Opening Set for Saturday
Key West Art & Historical Society Executive Director Michael Gieda rubs elbows with “The Preacher,” a towering Stanley Papio sculpture at Fort East Martello Museum. The sculpture is one of more than 100 of the artist’s sculptural objects and three-dimensional constructions that will be featured in the new permanent exhibit— “Stanley Papio: Junkyard Rebel”—which opens to the public at Fort East Martello on Saturday, May 14 from 5:30-7:00pm with a free celebration featuring live music by Ben Harrison. I absolutely love his work! I think it is wonderful that it will be available to charm and amaze others.
