Montessori Charter School to Host 1920’s-Themed Gala Fundraiser
Key West Montessori Charter School—a public school that offers free Montessori education—will be hosting its annual Gala fundraiser at The Key West Theater located at 512 Eaton Street on Saturday, January 30th from 6:00pm-10:00pm.
The “Great Gala” will be a 1920s Gatsby-esque affair featuring hors d’oeuvres by Chef Layla Barr; time-period entertainment and music by Bria Ansara; a silent and live auction of student created art, Cuban art, jewelry, gift certificates to restaurants and charter boat tours; and a raffle that includes a spa package and a “dine-around-Key-West” package of select island restaurants. The annual Gala fundraiser is the largest and most important fundraiser of the year for the school and supports the educational programs and the ability to provide free public Montessori education.
“One hundred percent of the funds raised at the event goes to supporting and expanding programs at the school, such as technology and computer labs, and a much needed art and music program for the students,” says Principal Lynn Barras.
“This will be a wonderful, lively event with something fun for everyone,” she says.
Tickets can be purchased in advanced for $45 at the school (located at 1400 United Street) or by contacting Layla Barr at 720.284.1829 and Leslie Concepcion at 305.587.4130. They will also be available at the door for $50. For more information call Key West Montessori Charter School at 305.293.1400 x 53418.
