Library Friends Lecture at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church
Novelist Mark Childress is next speaker in this season’s Friends of the Key West Library lecture series—Monday, March 9, 6:00 p.m., at the series’ temporary location, St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 401 Duval St. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
Childress will read selections from his works while sharing life-experiences that accompanied his writing. Among his seven novels, mostly set in the South, is “Crazy Alabama” (1993). Described as both comic and tragic, this novel was a New York Times notable book and was made into a movie starring Melanie Griffith. Childress’s most recent novel is “Georgia Bottoms” (2011), a hilarious Southern spoof. He has also written three picture books for children.
