KWAHS Distinguished Speaker Series Welcomes Flats Fishing Guide and Award-winning Documentary Filmmaker Will Benson

On Thursday, December 1, Key West Art & Historical Society welcomes the public to the Helmerich Research & Learning Center on the third floor of the Custom House Museum for a presentation by Distinguished Speaker Series guest Will Benson, a contributing writer to numerous fishing magazines and online publications and founder of World Angling, a salt water fly fishing charter and innovative documentary film production business.
Benson will show ’90 Miles,’ a short film he produced and filmed that explores the fishing connection between the Florida Keys and Cuba – the connectivity of our fisheries, our cultures, and mutual dependence on the health of both. The 15-minute film will be followed by a discussion of ‘what happens next in working with Cuba to preserve the amazing aquatic resources that we share.’
Tickets are available at through KWAHS.ORG/LEARN; $8 for members, $15 for nonmembers. For more information contact Adele Williams, Director of Education, at 305-295-6616, x115. Sponsored by the Helmerich Trust. Your Museums. Your Community. It takes an Island.
