34th Annual Wesley House Valentine’s Day Gala
A tribute to Edith Amsterdam and Edward Knight

As a community we have lost two great individuals this year, Edith Amsterdam and Edward Knight.

As we plan our most magical 34th Annual Valentine’s Gala we pay tribute to these two great individuals, Edith and Edward, by setting this year’s Valentine’s Gala Theme as Hat’s Off to Edith and Good Knight Edward.

Both Edith and Edward were instrumental in developing what has become known as one of the best holiday parties in Key West, supporting our Children. Edith and Al Amsterdam hosted our first Valentine’s Gala at their Curry Mansion Inn. The Gala which started in 1983 has continued through the years. Still family owned the family promised to continue their parents’ tradition. Our hosts this year are Edith’s children, Patsy and Phil.

Edward Knight joined Edith in her efforts by pledging his support and staff to host the Valentine’s Day Silent Auction, which has become the Largest Silent Auction in the Keys. Edward Knight and Berkshire Hathaway Home Services Knight & Gardner Realty staff have volunteered each year to run the huge silent auction.

The performance area will boast some of Key West’s most talented performing artists such the Honey Mouth Band. The event will feature the island’s largest silent auction, open bar, dancing, and an elegant and abundant dinner designed and prepared by Chef Warren of Destination Caterers of Key West. This signature event is sponsored in part by Berkshire Hathaway Home Services, Curry Mansion Inn, Ricks/Durty Harry’s and Sloppy Joe’s Bar. 100% of the proceeds will go directly to Wesley House Family Services.

The 34th Annual Wesley House Valentine’s Day Gala will be held Tuesday, February 14, 2017. For tickets, go to www.keystix.com; for more information, contact Claire Hiller at 305-809-5000.
