Traditional Dinner, Turnabout Show is Thanksgiving Day
Community members are invited to the Annual Turkey Dinner and Turnabout Show scheduled for Thanksgiving Day, Nov. 26 from 5 until 9 p.m. at Bourbon Street Pub. A traditionally wonderful Pot Luck dinner of turkey and ham and all the trimmings is planned. There is no charge.
The Turnabout Show begins at 10 p.m., when local bartenders and servers turn the tables on local performers, offering up an hilarious mix of acts displaying a variety of talent – mostly that of straight and butch hospitality professionals letting their hair down for a cause dear to their hearts: Sister Season Fund. All tips and donations will support SSF, which grants locals in these industries rent and utilities when they temporarily cannot work through no fault of their own.
Pub owner Joey Schroeder has in past years cooked up to half-dozen turkeys for the dinner, but items for the menu are welcome. Sign-up sheets have been posted at the pub, 801 and Aqua and anyone interested in donating a food dish, or who would like to volunteer to perform, is invited to please contact Julie Hanson, SSF vice president and event coordinator, at (305) 304-9828.
