Rejection Slip

Is there any tension

that one can mention

deeper than the apprehension

of condescension

in the printed invention

that says “your ability

to write with facility

has held our attention.

Good luck elsewhere.”

In practising hypocrisy it takes agility

to convey civility with such serene duplicity.
