KEY LARGO — Monroe County and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection are partnering to host a workshop on Brownfield Redevelopment. A brownfield is the expansion, redevelopment or reuse of property, which may be complicated by the presence or potential presence of a hazardous substance, pollutant or contaminant.

Developers, investors, realtors, governments and other interested members of the community are invited to learn about brownfields, hear success stories and explore opportunities to develop existing sites. Cleanup and closure processes unique to brownfield sites in the Florida Keys will be specifically addressed.
