New Key West Band Swings

The Greens, Key West’s newest sound, is playing at the Green Parrot and Schooner Wharf this week, swinging out with Django Reinhardt’s & Stephane Grappelli’s Minor Swing, Celtic jigs, and Louis Armstrong favorites.

Enjoy Gary Mackey, former fiddle player with Dolly Parton’s Nashville band, Rob Cook, the popular Duval Street “washboard- tie guy” on percussion, with composer Steve LaPierre on stand-up bass, along with special guests on guitar and banjo as The Greens produce spicy foot- stomping melodies for their new fans.

“We wanted to bring a new thing to Key West, where jazz and old-time roots music would meet,” said LaPierre, co-founder of both the Greens and the ever-popular Love Lane Gang.

Grab your whole family! Enjoy some soul-nourishing fun this whole week: Saturday, July 11th , Green Parrot, Whitehead & Southard Streets, 5:30p.m. – 7:00 p.m.; Monday, July 13, Schooner Wharf, 202 William Street, 7p.m. -11p.m.
