On Monday, June 26, South Florida Ford and Duncan Ford brought the community together to present Womankind of Key West with a $5,000 grant. Womankind is a medical and wellness center providing high-quality family planning, primary health care, and mental health counseling to people of all income levels. The Duncan Family Breast Cancer Treatment Grant was presented in honor of the family’s longtime efforts to help breast cancer patients become survivors.

Through the Duncan Family Breast Cancer Treatment Grant, Womankind will implement an outreach and education program component that will target African American women 40 years of age and above. Two specially assigned coordinators will be utilized to conduct outreach events in the community, with a focus on the Bahama Village neighborhood, and coordinate the delivery of recommended interventions for breast cancer prevention and control.

This grant is also part of South Florida Ford’s continued mission to support the efforts of Susan G. Komen as one of its pillar charities. The dealership was recently sold, however the South Florida Ford Dealers wanted to honor the Duncan Family’s contributions, not only to the dealer group, but also to the Key West community and its residents.
