In celebration of National Women’s History Month, Monroe County TV is premiering an original featurette that showcases seven County women who have made significant contributions to the Keys.

The featurette – called “Monroe County Women’s Month 2017” – premieres Sunday, March 19, at 5 p.m. on MCTV, which can be accessed on Comcast Channel 76, AT&T U-Verse Channel 99 and the Monroe County website: www.monroecounty-fl.gov.

The program interviews: Sylvia Murphy – Monroe County Commissioner, District 5; Heather Carruthers – Monroe County Commissioner, District 3; Anne Layton Rice – Monroe County Library Administrator; Mona Clark – Vice Chair, Keys Energy; Danise “Dee Dee” Henriquez – Monroe County Tax Collector; Margaret Romero – City of Key West Commissioner, District 5; and Breana Sowers – Monroe County Library Archivist.

“By recognizing and celebrating the achievements of women in our community, we are better able to guide girls and young women towards realizing that their futures have no limits,” said Jovanie Vazquez, Monroe County’s multimedia and television technician who produced the featurette.
