WEST PALM BEACH, FL – Monroe County Administrator Roman Gastesi was elected President of the Florida Association of County Managers on Thursday at the Florida Association of County’s Annual Conference & Education Exhibition in West Palm Beach.

“It’s an honor to be selected by my fellow board members,” Gastesi said. “It’s beneficial to learn about all the wonderful things other counties are doing around the state and then bring many of those great ideas and practices back to our slice of paradise to improve the lives of our residents.”

The Florida Association of County Managers provides a forum for county managers to develop professional relationships, discuss current and future issues affecting counties, and provide mentoring opportunities, education, advice and advocacy on statewide issues.

Gastesi replaces outgoing President Bertha Henry, the Broward County Administrator.  Hendry County Administrator Charles Chapman was elected President-Elect. Clay County Administrator Stephanie Kopelousos was elected Secretary and Indian River County Administrator Jack Brown was elected Treasurer.
