Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative Conference

Monroe County’s Social Services Department is hosting the Alzheimer’s Disease Initiative Conference on Monday, Nov. 14, from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., at the Harvey Government Center, 1200 Truman Ave. in Key West.

It’s free and open to the public.

The ADI’s training series is designed to provide knowledge, skills, and methods of coping to family caregivers, professionals and others involved in the care of individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and other memory disorders.

Session topics: Managing Alzheimer’s Disease, The Importance of Community Resources, Safety for Patients and Caring for the Caregiver.

The conference is presented by the University of Miami Health System, with collaboration with Florida’s Department of Elder Affairs, the Alliance for Aging and the Alzheimer’s Association.
