Domestic Abuse Shelter, Inc. (DAS) announced this week it has reopened the domestic violence emergency shelter in the Lower Keys. The shelter had been closed prior to Hurricane Irma for important ADA upgrades. We’d like to thank all the vendors who helped to make the improvements to the shelter including adding a wheel chair ramp outside as well as a beautiful new wheel chair accessible bathroom and shower. The 24-hour shelter is fully staffed and ready to accept survivors of domestic abuse and their children. The staff all convened prior to the re-opening for a ‘painting party’ to make all the living spaces warm and welcoming.

If you are in fear for your safety, please call the Statewide Florida Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-500-1119 or the DAS local hotline at 305-743-4440
